Hello, I'm Ann and I'm mad about history. My greatest passion is visiting places where history happened.
All my life I've loved going to ruined castles, stately homes, cathedrals, country churches, manor houses, you name it. If it's old, I've probably been there already, or I've got it on my list of places to see soon.
Beyond Stonehenge was born when I decided to compile details of my favourite places, so I could share my passion with other history lovers, especially people visiting from abroad, who'd like to get beyond the obvious locations and discover the tremendous wealth of heritage places in the UK. There's just so much history here to explore!
The thing that really gives me a thrill, is going to places where history happened. I adore imagining all the events that went on, and I love that sense of connection you get when you stand in the same place as your historic heros and heroines.
