You can spend hours marvelling at the intricacy of the wood carving. The quatrefoil motif crops ups all over the house.
Apparently, the original timber framed buildings weren't painted black and white. Instead, the wood was left to 'silver' as it seasoned and the plaster was painted a pale ochre colour. It was a Victorian conceit to paint them black and white. Can't help feeling that Little Moreton is probably more impressive in it's present colour scheme.
